Tax advice
For expats or impats, the main question is if and where they pay their social security, and if and how long they are liable for wage tax. The Netherlands has several treaties with a large number of countries and each one is different. As a result, in each case of expat or impat employment, tax advice is needed to avoid fiscal mistakes.

30% ruling
The Netherlands has a special tax regime for expats. Employees that are temporarily seconded or The Netherlands usually receive a reimbursement for the extra costs of living outside their home country, so-called extraterritorial costs. You can choose between reimbursement of the actual costs or application of the 30% ruling. This Dutch ruling provides a substantial income tax exemption of up to 30%.

Our 30% ruling services include:

  • Explanation of the 30% ruling application criteria;
  • Initial screening to determine whether the employee’s situation meets the ruling criteria;
  • Provision of proforma payroll calculations with and without the 30% ruling as required;
  • Submission of a proforma application to the Dutch tax authorities as required;
  • Provision of document templates and advice on completion of same;
  • Collation of the application documents and submission of the completed application to the Dutch tax authorities;
